Apple Dumplings
Grandma Pickens' Receipe
Directions
① Make a dough a little shorter than biscuit dough, roll out like you would a piecrust, and cut into large squares.
② Put 2 Tablespoons of uncooked apples on each square.
③ Cover apples with a generous amount of sugar that has had cinnamon mixed with it.
④ Dot with a Tablespoon of margarine.
⑤ Draw the four corners together.
⑥ Take 2 pints of water, 1 cup sugar, 1 Tablespoon margarine, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla and bring to a boil in a large pan.
⑦ Carefully place dumplings into the mixture.
⑧ Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until light brown on top. Juice will thicken when cooled.
