Banana Nut Cake

Ingredients
½ Cup Shortening
1½ Cup Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Soda
½ teaspoon Salt
½ Cup Sour Milk
1 Cup Mashed Bananas
1 teaspoon Vanilla
½ Cup Pecans (optional)
Directions
① Cream shortening and sugar together.
② Add beaten eggs and mix well.
③ Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add alternately with sour milk to the creamed mixture.
④ Beat with electric mixer.
⑤ Add mashed bananas and vanilla.
⑥ If using pecans, add to the mixture.
⑦ Pour in 8"×12" cake pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350°.
Icing Ingredients
½ Cup Margarine, melted
1 Cup Brown Sugar
&fact14; Cup Milk
2 Cups Powdered Sugar
Icing Directions
① Mix the margarine and brown sugar together in a small saucepan.
② Cook until thickened.
③ Cool slightly.
④ Add milk and powdered sugar.
⑤ May add pecans.
