Caramel Turtle Brownies
Ingredients
1 Box German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 Cup Chopped Pecans
⅓ Cup Evaporated Milk
¾ Cup Margarine
50 Light Caramels (14-oz. Package)
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
⅓ Cup Evaporated Milk
Directions
① Melt caramels and ⅓ cup evaporated milk in microwave. Keep warm.
② Combine cake mix, margarine (do not melt), nuts, and ⅓ cup evaporated milk. Use fork to cut together--do not mix very much but leave crumbly.
③ Press half of this mixture into a greased 9"×13" pan.
④ Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.
⑤ Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over surface.
⑥ Next pour hot caramel mixture over all.
⑦ Crumble the remaining batter over the caramel.
⑧ Return to the oven and bake for 16 minutes.
⑨ Cool well before attempting to cut.
Makes about 36 squares.
