Caramel Turtle Brownies

Ingredients


1 Box German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 Cup Chopped Pecans
⅓ Cup Evaporated Milk
¾ Cup Margarine
50 Light Caramels (14-oz. Package)
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
⅓ Cup Evaporated Milk

Directions


Melt caramels and ⅓ cup evaporated milk in microwave. Keep warm.
Combine cake mix, margarine (do not melt), nuts, and ⅓ cup evaporated milk. Use fork to cut together--do not mix very much but leave crumbly.
Press half of this mixture into a greased 9"×13" pan.
Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over surface.
Next pour hot caramel mixture over all.
Crumble the remaining batter over the caramel.
Return to the oven and bake for 16 minutes.
Cool well before attempting to cut.
Makes about 36 squares.
