Never Fail Peanut Brittle

Gold Kist Peanut Recipe

Ingredients


3 Cups Granulated Sugar
1⅛ Cups White Karo Syrup
½ Cup Water
4 Cups Raw Spanish Peanuts
3 Tablespoons Butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2½ teaspoons Soda

Directions


Boil sugar, Karo syrup, and water until a thread spins or temperature has reached 250°.
Add peanuts and stir continuously until temperature reaches 290°.
Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla, and soda.
Pour immediately onto buttered cookie sheets, spreading as thin as possible with a spoon. If extra thin brittle is desired, remove from cookie sheets in approximately two minutes, placing on smooth flat surface and spread to desired thinness.
