Old Fashioned Almond Crunch
Ingredients
1 Cup Butter (not margarine)
1¼ Cups Sugar
2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
2 Tablespoons Water
1 Cup Slivered Almonds, Toasted
11½-oz. package Nestlés Milk Chocolate Chips
Directions
① In heavy saucepan, combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, and water.
② Heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Boil to brittle state. (300° on candy thermometer).
③ Remove from heat. Stir in almonds.
④ Pour into foil-lined 15"×10"×1" cookie sheet pan.
⑤ Sprinkle chocolate morsels over brittle.
⑥ Allow to stand until morsels become shiny. Spread with spatula.
⑦ Let cool and refrigerate 1 hour.
⑧ Break into bite-size pieces.
Makes approximately 2 lbs. candy
